American Fuel Distributors gears up with two new acquisitions Tuesday, April 04, 2006 American Fuel Distributors, L.P., a fuel distribution company based in Dallas, Texas, announced two major acquisitions. After acquiring the wholesale fuel distribution business of Premier Fuel Distributors, Inc. of Houston in February, it acquired Lambert Oil Company of Cleburne, Texas, earlier this month, the company announced March 27.
The Premier acquisition includes the assignment of supply contracts for 29 Valero-branded retail service stations that are located throughout Texas. The Lambert Oil purchase involves the purchase of fuel supply contracts for 31 Chevron and CITGO branded retail service stations located primarily in Johnson and Hood counties, Texas. With these acquisitions, American Fuel becomes one of the largest DFW-based fuel distributors serving the retail gasoline industry. Specific financial terms of the two transactions were not disclosed.

SMU Cox Recognizes Dallas/Fort Worth Entrepreneurs at the 16th Annual Dallas 100TM Awards Dallas (SMU) 17th November 2006 In its 16th year, the Dallas 100TM Awards, presented by the SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship, recognized the top 100 fastest growing, privately held companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The success of these companies indicates the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in North Texas, as these 100 companies combined to generate sales of $3 billion in 2005, and grew average sales 208 percent from 2003 to 2005. The top 100 companies were recognized at an awards ceremony at the Meyerson Symphony Center November 15, with keynote speaker Eddie Gossage, president and general manager of Texas Motor Speedway. Huntley Paton, publisher of The Dallas Business Journal, and Mike Rogers, with KRLD Newsradio, served as emcees for the event. Taking the top spot in this year’s Dallas 100TM Awards is the Addison-based marketing firm, RAZOR. Ranked 9th in Entrepreneur magazine’s “Hot 100” list of top growth companies in the United Sates in 2006, RAZOR creates and implements marketing strategies that build retail brands by driving transactions and improving marketing ROI. Clients include retail industry leaders Domino's Pizza, Rent-A-Center, Wendy's, Baskin-Robbins, GameStop and BLIMPIE as well as Habitat for Humanity.
