Company
History:
American Fuel Distributors, L.P., is a dynamic, Dallas-based company that
supplies branded and unbranded fuel to stations across Texas. Founded in 1999,
AFD now is one of the largest independent fuel distributors in Texas. Our
family-owned company also is on track to become a major presence in the
surrounding states.
Our company’s rapid growth is the result of our core values:
-
We will always follow the highest ethical standards when dealing with customers
and suppliers.
-
We will grow our business by finding ways to help our customers grow their
businesses.
-
We will be prompt and responsive to our customers, and use technology to help
them monitor their fuel operations.
-
We will give back to the communities that have made us successful.
AFD provides a wide selection of branded fuels, including Shell, Chevron,
Texaco, Valero, Shamrock and ConocoPhillips. We offer competitive prices and
dependable delivery for all our fuels.
We can also help station owners review their operations to find ways to
increase traffic and sales. For example, American Fuel employees can suggest
changes to improve a retail location’s appearance and security, or help station
owners adapt their selection of convenience or grocery items to better fit the
population they serve. AFD even offers its own brand, Destiny, to independent
station owners who would like to affiliate with a recognized network.
Mr. Shanali “Shawn” Bhagat founded American Fuel Distributors after two
decades of experience as an entrepreneur and small business owner. He saw
tremendous opportunity in the fuel distribution industry for a new company that
focused on excellence in customer service and selective acquisitions of similar
businesses. A highly motivated, culturally diverse, and multilingual team of
employees has helped AFD succeed.
In less than 10 years, AFD has gone from serving a handful of contracts to
providing fuel to more than 100 customers. Many have multiple locations.
Word-of-mouth and referrals are among AFD’s most important ways of finding new
customers.
AFD also grows by acquisition. We purchased Premier Fuel Distributors, Inc. of
Houston and Lambert Oil Company of Cleburne, Texas, in 2006. By the end of
2007, we will serve stations in the Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston
markets, as well parts of Arkansas and Alabama. Southern Methodist University’s
Cox School of Business has named American Fuel Distributors one of North Texas’
fastest growing, privately held businesses for the past seven years.
Goals /
Vision:
American Fuel Distributors growth has and will continue to be accomplished thru
two strategies:
Organic Growth:
Because of American Fuels superb customer service, organic growth has been an
integral piece to AFDs development. For instance, American Fuel has a specific
department whose sole purpose is to ensure customers imaging standards are
being met. Thru this route, American Fuels retailers have seen significant
growth in their own individual convenience stores. By doing so, not only does
American Fuel gain from this practice, but so do its valued customers.
Because of American Fuels well known customer first priority, the company
receives a healthy dose of new clients wishing to experience the honest and
ethical service in this industry that is hard to come across.
Acquisitions:
Besides Organic Growth, American Fuel Distributors also expands their customer
base by acquisition. American Fuel acquires fuel distributors by a selective
process that ensures the acquired distributors customers receive the same
service and reliability that AFDs current customers receive. |
